Yoga

Yoga is an ancient spiritual discipline that originated in India over 5000 years ago. The practice of yoga unites mental discipline, physical postures, and breathing techniques to increase strength and flexibility and promote relaxation and self-awareness. Studies show that regularly practicing yoga improves overall physical health and mental well-being.

Yoga integrates physical postures (asanas) with mindful breathing (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana). Yoga poses promote strength and flexibility; mindful breathing and meditation help clear and focus the mind.

The practice of yoga can be done in various ways, ranging from gentle to strenuous. There are numerous types of yoga, including, but not limited to, Hatha, Yin, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Bikram, and Ashtanga.

Studies suggest that practicing yoga has many benefits, including stress relief, sleep improvement, pain reduction, weight loss, and chronic disease management. Depending on the type of yoga, it may also help relieve certain chronic pain conditions, such as neck pain, migraine, or low back pain.
