Steroids

Steroids are chemical hormones produced naturally by the body, and can be lab-made to reduce inflammation. Corticosteroids help prevent the immune system from producing substances that cause inflammation, and anabolic steroids build muscle mass depleted by conditions like cancer.

Common side effects from taking steroids might include: weight gain, bloating, nausea, moodiness, difficulty sleeping, thin skin, bad acne, unusual hair growth, low sperm count, breast growth, blood sugar and pressure spikes. More serious side effects from prolonged use may include: brittle bones (osteoporosis), cataracts, infertility, diabetes, damage to the liver, heart, and kidneys.
